Standard First Aid with CPR-C
Retiring June 21
Standard First Aid provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid and CPR. It meets the WSIB training requirement for workplaces with more than 5 employees. A wide variety of topics are covered, including victim assessment, CPR for all age groups, AEDs, choking, external bleeding, heart attack, strokes, burns, legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, seizures, diabetic emergencies, poisoning, and anaphylactic reactions.

Emergency First Aid with CPR-B
Retiring June 21
Emergency First Aid is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. It meets the WSIB training requirement for workplaces with 5 or less employees. Topics include victim assessment, CPR, choking, external bleeding, heart attacks, strokes, and burns.

Intermediate First Aid
with CPR-C
18 Hours
Intermediate First Aid (formerly Standard First Aid) includes all aspects of Basic First Aid and provides additional comprehensive first aid training. Candidates demonstrate first aid care for anaphylaxis, shock, stroke, amputations, facial injuries, burn injuries, fractures and dislocations, neck or spinal column injuries, seizures, diabetic emergencies, and environmental injury and illness. Includes CPR-C with AED certification for adult, child and infant.

Basic First Aid
with CPR-C
9 Hours
Basic First Aid (formerly Emergency First Aid) provides awareness, knowledge, and skills to respond to common first aid emergencies. The course includes scene and primary assessment, CPR-C, AED use, breathing emergencies, circulatory emergencies and the treatment of wounds.

Intermediate First Aid Recertification
8 Hours
Candidates may take an Intermediate First Aid Recertification course within 36 months of completing an Intermediate First Aid Full Course (16 hours). Recertification for Intermediate First Aid covers the essential workplace first aid competencies, including CPR-C with AED certification for adult, child and infant, emergency scene management, recognition and management of life-threatening airway, breathing, circulation, and bleeding emergencies, identification and response to medical emergencies, and management of soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries.
